Our Client, a Dubai Government entity is looking to recruit a QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety and Environment) Manager for their specialist business unit in Dubai.

Purpose of the role is to assess and manage in the development, administration and implementation of the Business units Environmental compliance and review Environmental management plans, submissions by Consultants and Contractors.

Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

• Manage the preparations of the Environmental Management Plans and communicate them across the organization;
• Review Contractors Environmental submissions, make comments and ensure compliance with Government authority regulations;
• Build statistical data regarding environmental performance across the Projects;
• Monitor performance against UAE Government authority and International standards;
• Comment on the effectiveness of contractor's programs such as, Technical performance, Environmental plans, procedures, Environmental training, corrective actions, occupational health programs, and Environmental protection;
• Provide internal reports regarding Environmental updates and status of compliance to the head of the department;
• Liaise with Operators and maintainers with a view to implement Environmental plans concerning the projects operation;
• Provide environmental support across the projects;
• Resolve / facilitate the resolution of Environmental compliance issues;
• Perform regular site visits to monitor the implementation of Environmental plans and compliance with Contract obligations;
• Input into emergency preparedness plans for the business division;

• B.Sc. in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemistry or Environmental Science;
• Minimum 4 years of professional environmental engineering experience;
• Fluent in English and Arabic (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Licensed Environmental Engineer (Professional Engineer PE) would be a plus;
• Knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) requirements, of the requirements for the use of personal protective equipment for chemical hazards, requirements for hazardous substances, and the impact of hazardous waste operations on worker safety and health;
• Knowledge of principles, concepts, and requirements of environmental risk assessment;
• Must be knowledgeable in various types of computer programs, such as analytical and scientific software, compliance software, and graphic imaging and CAD technology.
