| Job Description |
Our Client, A Semi-Government organization based in Dubai is looking to recruit a Marine Environment Officer for their operations.
Purpose of the role is to interface with business units and companies to ensure compliance with marine, costal and wildlife regulations including raising awareness and promoting initiatives about dealing with marine and wildlife and issue penalties for non-conformance.
Responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

| Key Responsibilities |
- Assist in developing policies and standards related to environment, marine and wildlife and communicate the same within the department and to other regulatory bodies and companies
- Review EIA reports and recommend plan of action to mitigate any risk to coastal or wildlife
- Assist in developing regulations for marine environment and wildlife that serve as standards to be followed by all projects
- Benchmark and update existing regulations with international best practices through research
- Assist in periodic review of present regulations and their effectiveness especially in the areas of tariff, penalties and other charges
- Conduct inspections to check compliance with regulations and recommend actions like penalties and other relevant sanctions
- Assist in other field work related to marine life program including water sampling and monitoring
- Develop information and campaign materials such as AV aids, presentations etc. to build awareness amongst the clients on marine and wildlife laws
- Coordinate joint fieldwork with other authorities to resolve relevant issues such as transportation and trade of endangered species, wildlife, marine life etc.

| Key Attributes |
- Diploma or Degree in Biology OR Marine OR Environment Science.
- 2 – 4 years experience in environmental planning, management and regulation work
- Proficient in marine environmental regulations, best practices and international standards
- Strong knowledge of reviewing and assessment of technical reports
- International marine conservation policy and regulation knowledge
