Our client, an Abu Dhabi based government organization is recruiting an experienced Financial Controller.

Purpose of the role: 

Responsible for all Group management accounts and financial reports. Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of all statements, meeting all management and regulatory requirements. Key driver in process to develop Group accounting and financial controller policies and robust governance at both Corporate and Project level

The position reports to the CFO

• Responsible for building a financial accounting and control team
• Developing and implementing appropriate policies and procedures to ensure robust controls and Financial Governance at the Corporate and Project levels
• Provide timely and accurate Management and IFRS Financial Reports
• Ensure that operating costs are controlled and timely reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts
• Act as liaison for External Auditors, ensuring all required schedules are available on a timely basis.
• Assist the CFO with the organizations budgeting process and with any required Financial Due Diligence
• Provide project leadership on the evaluations, selection and implementation of all IT systems to support the achievement of the planned growth within the strategy of the organization

• Chartered Accountant with Big Four practice or similar in depth experience
• 8 years of post qualification experience of which 3 years of General accounting experience, preferably in a Multinational
• Thorough knowledge of IFRS and IAS
• Keen knowledge of principles of fiscal administration including development and maintenance of internal controls, policies and financial analysis
• Exposure to budget development, analysis & controls
• Ability to operate internal accounting information systems and computer applications as required
• Oracle Financials experience or similar are an advantage
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Exposure to large scale infrastructure projects preferred
